interactions
Morphine agonists, antacids, activated charcoal and anticholinergics decrease the rate of absorption of paracetamol, but not the total amount absorbed, and cisapride increases its rate of absorption. The toxicity of paracetamol is increased by the concomitant administration of ethyl alcohol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, acetylsalicylic acid or other salicylates, barbiturates, carbamazepine, hydantoin, rifampicin, sulfinpyrazone, gold salts. Paracetamol increases the risk of side effects of oral anticoagulants, antifungals - imidazole derivatives, carmustine and related, doxorubicin and related, isoniazid and related, mercaptopurine, cyclosporine, chloramphenicol. Estrogen and estrogen-progestative contraceptives increase the hepatic metabolism of paracetamol.
