Precautions:
Duration of treatment: 2 days. Observe the doses and duration of treatment.

This medicine contains loperamide hydrochloride and can be obtained without a prescription. It is recommended that you read the package leaflet or the information on the package carefully. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Imodium should not be used in children under 6 years of age.
Do not use Imodium:
-if there is blood in the stool or if you have a fever;
-if you have an inflammation of the lower abdomen (for example an ulcerative colitis or pseudomembranous colitis as a result of the use of antibiotics);
-if your doctor has told you that you should avoid slowing down your bowel activity, for example, if you are constipated or your abdomen is bloated.
-if you are allergic to loperamide hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section),
if you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings:
-Although Imodium stops diarrhea, it will not treat its cause. or if possible, the cause of diarrhea should also be treated.
-When you have diarrhea, you lose a lot of fluids. Therefore, you need to replace the lost fluids (drink more fluids). This is especially important for young children. Your pharmacist will be able to give you a special powder that contains sugar and salts. When added to water, it will replace the salts you lost during a diarrhea episode. The solution is particularly suitable for children.- In the event of a sudden (acute) attack of diarrhea, Imodium will usually stop the symptoms within 48 hours. If this does not happen, stop treatment and talk to your doctor.
-If you have AIDS and are being treated with Imodium for diarrhea, if you have any signs of bloating or bulging, stop taking Imodium immediately and tell your doctor.
-Inform your doctor if you have liver problems; you may need careful medical care while taking Imodium.
Observe the doses and duration of treatment.

Use of other medicines:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines that slow down your stomach and intestines (for example, anticholinergics), as they may potentiate the effect of Imodium.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
If you are pregnant or think you may be, you should tell your doctor, who will decide if you can use Imodium or your pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. It is recommended that you do not use Imodium if you are breast-feeding, as small amounts of Imodium may reach your milk.

Driving and using machines:
Imodium has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines. However, fatigue, dizziness or drowsiness may accompany diarrhea, so it is advisable to be careful when driving or using machines.
