Lacrisifi ophthalmic solution, 10 ml, Sifi
Composition:
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 0.500g; Benzalkonium chloride 0.010g; Distilled water qs 100ml.
Indications:
Dry eye syndrome associated or not with Sjogren's syndrome.
Artificial tear that relieves the sensations of burning and eye irritation associated with dry eyes.
Lacrisifi is recommended as an adjunct in "sicca" syndromes, both in those of endogenous origin (alteration of the tear film caused by excess or deficiency of mucopolysaccharides), and in those of exogenous origin (contact lens wearers, environmental factors). It is also recommended in case of eye irritations caused by smog, dust, wind, sea water; in addition it facilitates the elimination of foreign bodies and toxic substances. Lacrisifi is well tolerated when instilled into the conjunctival sac, as demonstrated by all clinical evaluations.
Hydroxypropyl-methylcellulose has lubricating and emollient properties, and its viscosity allows prolonging the corneal contact time of the eye drop. Lacrisifi (0.5% hydroxypropyl-cellulose solution) has a refractive index comparable to that of tear fluid. In addition, it regenerates, improves stability and reproduces the visual characteristics of the tear film. Lacrisifi has a mild antiseptic activity and ensures hydration and lubrication of the cornea.
Contraindications:
Lacrisifi is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any of the components of the solution.
Administration:
It is instilled 1-2 drops 4-8 times a day, according to the doctor's advice.
Do not use after 30 days from the first opening of the bottle.
